My Review
What a super sweet childrens book! The Tale Of Philida Thrush is a sweet story in rhyme, of a thrush named Philida who loses her home. She goes with her friend, Stanley, the hedgehog to discover why the dozers have knocked her home down. On her journey to try to find a new place to settle, she finds all different areas, but none are just right. The question is, can she find THE home she needs?
My 5 year old granddaughter was enchanted by this tale. The sketched illustrations just add even more charm. Suzanne Stephenson has balanced the worry with the happiness within this little book. Philida may have lost her home, but she has help from the people in where to check for new places to live. It takes her a little time, but she finds the best place. The fact that Stanley worries about her too and sends hedge sparrows, Sonja, and Paul to check she is ok. My granddaughter was so pleased about that! She believes in helping, and this reinforces her caring thoughts. We loved it that much. I bought her a physical copy. Her parents can read it to her for bed now too!!
I’m so glad I had the chance to read this book to my granddaughter. I spent a delightful afternoon with her and The Tale of Philida Thrush. Any child would love this book! I know I did, and I’m definitely an adult.
Author Bio

Living in the English countryside I already had a couple of careers before I became an author. Having been a Family Lawyer and Family Mediator I became a District Judge in the year 2000 and officially retired from judging in early 2021.Sitting on complex family cases did not leave me much time for my interests of writing and sketching but when I had free-time I tried to visit interesting places .I hope my ancestors helped provide some inspiration as well. My father was a Holocaust survivor and my maternal grandfather a gynaecologist and composer. The people and countryside of Eastern England also are embedded in my psyche .

Aw, this looks so lovely! 🙂
