A page turner to the nth degree! A dark, spicy romantasy which left me wanting to keep reading forever! You have heard of a book hangover? Well, that’s exactly what Phantasma did for me.

First of all, the cover! I mean, come on! I am sure nobody could flick past this book just for that. It is absolutely stunning. To be honest, it set me up with such high expectations! All I can say is, it fulfilled every single one and more.

Kaylie Smith’s world building puts the reader in the heart of her version of New Orleans. In a haunted gothic mansion. Phantasma is actually a series of trials that are based on the nine circles of hell. The winner gaining the prize of a Devil’s Wish. Ophelia enters in order to save her sister. Blackwell is a phantom who comes to her aid as she learns to control her magic as well as beat the trials. What no one is aware of is that Phantasma holds its own secrets within the walls, but secrets come out at some point in this ‘game’.

World building, characters both superb! Ophelia is surely one of the best characters! I invested in her from the start and felt all maternal when her magic grew and her skills started sharpening! Loved the chemistry that literally sparked of the page between her and Blackwell. Such a satisfying read.

Crammed with magic, gore, spice, ghosts, and demons. I couldn’t have asked for a better book to read! The pages should have been smoking, the speed I read! I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that there will be a second book. I dont think I can go without another exquisite read such as this!!
