Genre: YA, dystopian fantasy
Length: 334 pages
Published: 30th August 2023

For dystopian fans of THE LAST OF US, THE MAZE RUNNER, and THE HUNGER GAMES.

The YA debut from award-winning author, Stuart White.
IN A NAMELESS WORLD, ONE HERO RISES BY DISCOVERING THEIR IDENTITY.

In a dystopian world dominated by genetic perfection and numbered gene pools, sixteen-year-old E820927, known as Seven, yearns for an identity beyond his assigned number.

To escape a life as a Nameless Exile, and become a citizen of the Realm, he must pass a loyalty test to prove his allegiance to the totalitarian Autokratōr.

But as the truth unfolds, Seven faces a difficult choice between revenge, love and discovering his identity.

Gripping and oh, so gritty. The Nameless is an example of just how good dystopian young adult books really are. Stuart White is yet another new author that my blogging journey has allowed me to discover. I still feel privileged to be a part of the blogging community even now.

This reminds me of Maze Runner and Divergent. The biggest difference is that there is quite a bit more butality going on in The Nameless. I was intrigued with the whole idea that you dont know your actual name until you have completed your training and done your final test. This determines which sector you will be put into. Unless you fail, then you are exiled and stay nameless. See, brutal!

Seven, or officially, E820927 is our main character and a believable one, too. His journey to find his name takes him down some dark paths, but this shows his strength of character in his determination to plough on. I loved the friendship between 6 and 7. It made it emotional as well as a little disturbing with the violent nature of his journey.

I found it such an easy read. The pages almost turned themselves, I was devouring this story so quickly. It’s packed full of action, emotion, and darkness that I just kept reading! I am keeping my fingers crossed. There is another book coming soon, as that ending made me want one!
