Jane Lark – The Illicit Love of a Courtesan @rararesources @JaneLark #TheIllicitLoveOfACourtesan #BirthdayBlogBlitz #SharonBTB

Hey all! I’m on the book birthday blitz for The Illicit Love Of A Courtesan by Jane Lark. Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Jane Lark for the gifted ebook to write my unbiased review.

In the eyes of the ton, Ellen Harding lives a charmed life – she is the beautiful, exquisitely adorned mistress of Lord Gainsborough.

But on the inside, behind her glamorous façade, she is empty – a vessel – deaf to the voice of morality and blind to shame. Unable to escape the gilded cage she has been trapped within.

Kind, gentle Edward Marlow could prove to be her salvation… With one look he gives her hope. With one touch he sets her senses alight.

Lose yourself in the passionate intensity of this stunning debut from exciting new talent Jane Lark.

I love history and romance! This historical romance is one from a new author to me, and I have to say this book ticked every box for me!

I was swept back to days long gone and into Ellen Hardings life. A life in which she has suffered, and is still suffering as a Courtesan with a manipulative and abusive ‘protector’. Her story pulled on my heartstrings as I read. I soon became invested in her, and as the story developed, I really wanted her to get her happy ending, one I thought she deserved after everything she had gone through.

Edward Marlow is her hero. A man who did everything in his power to make sure she got the life she deserved. He loves her that much he is willing to go to any lengths. This is such a rollercoaster of a romance, and the author conveys every nuanced emotion that these two characters go through so well. I was enraptured with this story.

The romance isn’t just sweet. It’s steamy, too! There are plenty of those times packed within the pages to entertain any reader who likes a bit of steam with their romance reads. It all fits so well into the story as a natural progression. It added that bit of an edge, which I did enjoy.

As the pages flew by and i inched closer to the end, I knew I was going to miss Ellen and Edward, I was so wrapped up in their romance. I think I might have to read the other books in the series, if only to get my dose of steamy romance mixed with drama.
