Opposites attract like a magnet to steel, or in this case, Emerson to Steel
Emerson Powers has been so focused on obtaining her science degree that she’s neglected the more social aspects of college life. With the new start of her junior year, she’s determined to fix that with a real hands-on lesson in biology. The assignment is simple enough—teach the rock star’s son how to be good, while he shows her how to be very bad. Two objectives, one outcome … will the lesson be love or heartbreak?

A romance novella that’s the second book in the A Lesson In Love series. It worked fine as a standalone. I was certainly in the mood for a light read, and Blinded Me With Science fit the bill perfectly.
The story is told through Emerson and Steel. They both went to the same school before college. Steel was the popular guy, a rockstar dad with everything going for him, while Emerson was just another student, she moved on to college knowing Steel was a person from the past…until he isn’t! She discovers Steel has started attending her college, and even worse, she gets paired with him to work on assignments! What she doesn’t know is Steel has always fancied her, will fireworks fly? Or will Emerson shut him down right away?
Well written and a great story with an opposites attract trope that works well. It is a little spicy as the story warms up. See what I did there! Haha. Characters that Tara September develops enough so they seem real and genuine. I loved their banter and how Steel was prepared to show his vulnerability to Emerson. I was swept away into their world and so hoping romance would blossom as Emerson witnessed how much he was willing to prove he had changed.
A novella that surprised me with how much I became involved in such a short space of time. Tara September has now made me curious to read the first book, too. If it’s as absorbing as Blinded Me With Science, I am guaranteed an escape from reality for a little while again. A great read!
