Leopard Borstinski – The Mensch @ZooloosBT @Borstinski #TheMensch #AlexCohenSeries #SharonBTB

Today I am over the moon to be hosting my review for The Mensch by Leopold Borstinski on behalf of ZooLoo’s Book Tours. With thanks to both Zoe and Leopold Borstinski for the copy of the book.

How can a crooked man ever go straight?
Jewish gangster, Alex Cohen settles down in Florida surrounded by his wife and family. But his past life in the criminal underworld stalks his every move and when a bullet whizzes past his ear, he must decide whether to run or fight.

In his desire to go straight, Alex inserts himself in the East Coast porn film industry, only to find that the tentacles of the mob are clasped tight around his life. With the Feds using new laws to hunt down mob bosses, and rats in his own organization all too ready to testify against him, Alex must clean house before the authorities throw him in jail or the mob kills him to stop him ratting them out.

The seventh book in the Alex Cohen series is an historical thriller novel, which reveals the dying embers of Jewish organized crime in America. Leopold Borstinski’s crime fiction shines a light on the death of the old-style mob in an explosive finale.

The seventh book in the Alex Cohen series. I have read every single book and enjoyed each one immensely. An organised crime historical thriller series that has followed Alex Cohen throughout his life.
The Mensch sees Alex wanting to retire from his gangster days and go legitimate. The only thing is his past won’t go away that easily and he finds he is dodging assassination attempts left, right and centre.

Every book is written so the reader can jump in at any point without a problem. As I said I have read all seven books and have loved my time with Alex Cohen and feeling like I was by his side at every step he took.

Again, Leopold Borstinski’s research has created such an immersive page turner. I felt like I was back with a friend when I began this book and it was brilliant to catch up with him and his life.

The amount of historical events that are used throughout the series are again woven into the tale and make it all the more believable. I can never get enough when a new book in the series is released. The Mensch is the final book in the series and after all this time I almost feel really sad to say goodbye to this character that isn’t perfect but did the best he could through the decades.

Another captivating and gripping story that I really do highly recommend, in fact, I recommend all the series for a brilliant, immersive and thrilling read.
