Today I am over the moon to have Broken Screams by Sally Rigby on the blog on behalf of ZooLoo’s Book Tours. Thanks to Zoé and Sally Rigby for having me and gifting the book to bring my honest and unbiased review as part of the tour.
Scream all you want, no one can hear you….
When an attempted murder is linked to a string of unsolved sexual attacks, Detective Chief Inspector Whitney Walker is incensed. All those women who still have sleepless nights because the man who terrorises their dreams is still on the loose.
Calling on forensic psychologist Dr Georgina Cavendish to help, they follow the clues and are alarmed to discover the victims all had one thing in common. Their birthdays were on the 29th February. The same date as a female officer on Whitney’s team.
As the clock ticks down and they’re no nearer to finding the truth, can they stop the villain before he makes sure his next victim will never scream again.
Broken Screams is the twelfth book in the acclaimed Cavendish & Walker series and is perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Helen H Durrant and Rachel McClean.
This is the twelfth book in the Cavendish & Walker series. It may be the twelfth but it is as fresh as the first in my opinion
As Sally Rigby writes these books they go from strength to strength. Every story is unique in its own right. I would say you are able to read this as a standalone, but, would you want to?
The characters are all so well created, as different from each other as can be. I adore this series due to the great character development and the skilful writing from Sally Rigby.
This particular book brings a case of attempted murder that links up to a series of sexual assaults for D.C.I Whitney Walker to solve. She calls on her partner Forensic Psychologist, Georgina ‘George’ Cavendish to help. As the case unfolds can they find the perpetrator before he actually murders his next victim?
As always Sally Rigby has brought a tale I couldn’t put down. The pages just turned themselves until, sadly I reached the end. The ‘on the edge of your seat’ moments are all perfectly placed, as are the twists and turns of the story.
I always enjoy a book in which you don’t just concentrate on the main plot, but the author also delves into the lives of the main characters. This is a series that does just that. I feel like these women could be friends almost, because of the well rounded way we get to know them.
Another resounding success for the twelfth book and I can’t wait to see what Sally Rigby brings Walker & Cavendish next. Looking forward to it!
