Daniel Hurst – The Break  @ZooloosBT @InkubatorBooks @dhurstbooks  #TheBreak #ZooloosBookTours #BookReview #BookBlogger #BlogTour

I am thrilled to say I am part of the book tour for The Break by Daniel Hurst. Thanks to ZooLoo’s Book Tours and Inkubator Books for the gifted copy of the book to take part today.

It seems like a lovely little house. But it has dark secrets…

Karen is a busy wife and mother. Between work, her husband Peter, and their two children, Oscar and Noah, she doesn’t have a minute to herself.

So when it all begins to feel too much, Karen knows just what she needs – to get away for a little while. Nothing big. Just a short break.

Her friend, Eve, tells her about a quaint little holiday home, and Karen books herself a short stay. She’ll have time to read, take bubble baths, unwind. Perfect.

But this is no ordinary holiday home – it contains a dark and disturbing secret. Because Karen isn’t alone here – someone is watching her. Waiting for the right moment to spring the trap and plunge her into a nightmare she’ll never forget.

The Break – the stunning psychological thriller from the author of The Passenger and The New Friends

The Break is a psychological thriller published by Inkubator Books. Every single book this publisher had released have all been brilliant! Daniel Hurst has written a few books now that I have read and reviewed. I have loved everyone, and The Break was no exception.

As is the norm with one of these author’s books, it was a gripping read that immediately grabs you. This is a fast-paced, intriguing, and suspenseful story that kept me turning those pages at such a speed! I was hoping the kindle would cope!

Told from three perspectives, this is a well plotted and written story. The multiple points of view create even more suspense, and I was almost shouting at some of the characters at times. I always enjoy a multi character narration as I feel I get to know more about the full cast, so to speak and this added depth to the story also and they are all well defined and play their own unique parts throughout.

What I did enjoy was the flaws in these characters. They weren’t all ones I felt for as such. This makes them very believable. As I sat reading as basically watching the mistakes, all grow together to create the resulting story, and that was part of the reason I felt like shouting at them.

Again, Daniel Hurst has written a psychological thriller that will have you addicted to the book. I certainly couldn’t put it down. I flew through this book in an afternoon. Suspenseful, twisted, and oh so intriguing. Another excellent release which any psychological thriller fan should enjoy.
