I am pleased to say I am a part of Robin Roughley’s brand new book tour None. Published by Red Dragon Publishing. Many thanks for my copy of this book to bring my honest opinion today.
Ruben is a successful salesman.
Roz hates her boring admin job.
Ruben owns his own home
Roz still lives with her nasty mum and dad.
One is a serial killer, the other desperate to learn the trade.
When high-school misfits Ruben Jones and Roz Smith’s paths cross later in life, they see something in the other no one else has and they team up to form a friendship based on the one thing they have in common – murder.

I have read Robin Roughley’s DS Lasser series (not all, but I will get there!). Reading the synopsis alone made me raise my eyebrows. If you think as you pick up this book, you know what to expect…scrub that thought. This one is as unique as the book cover. It’s an addictive, very clever and even funny book. Saying all that, though, it is a bit mental, but I loved it!
We meet Roz and Ruben, two people who were both the odd ones out in school, and let’s put it this way; now they are more than that! They meet up as adults, Ruben, a successful salesman with his own home and a penchant for murder. Roz is living at home with her parents, who she has NO love for and is working in administration, something else she hates. She is on the edge of considering suicide. As they share their darkest secrets, Ruben makes an offer that Roz won’t refuse… he will train her in the highly skilled art of murder.

Roz and Ruben are truly mad as a box of frogs, and the chemistry they had was great. The highlight of the book for me has to be Roz; she had me laughing at her thoughts or what came out of her mouth.
This is such an entertaining and thrilling book. I was engrossed from the start. A story that had me reading just one more chapter constantly, which led to a very late night for me. Robin Roughley has thrown a curveball with None, but what a great curveball it is!
Author Bio

Robin Roughley is the author of around forty novels, many featuring the force of nature that is DS Lasser, the laconic, sometimes world-weary sergeant who patrols the streets of Wigan in the north-west of England.
He also writes in a number of genres, including hard bitten and cosy crime, plus comedy, with a supernatural romance thrown into the mix.
After working at several jobs, including paint maker, pie salesman (a job that anyone from Wigan has to have done at some point) to pallet maker and eventually truck driver, he decided to try his hand at writing a book and so the first Lasser adventure saw the light of day.

When not tapping away at the keyboard, he likes to go for walks to solve plot problems and find new ways to bump people off.
