The sixth book in the Edinburgh Crime Mysteries series had me returning to Hunter’s world. I have read some of the books from this series, and I have to say every book is fine to read individually. For this blog tour, there is a GIVEAWAY! Yes and dont forget to enter! The prize is a PDF copy of Hunter’s Rules, just scroll to the bottom of the page to enter! First is the synopsis.

When best-laid plans go awry…
Hunter and Meera’s romantic plans come to an abrupt end when they stumble into the scene of a crime.
A young woman was attacked in a hotel lift. She has traumatic injuries, but she clings to life. Hunter notes that her wounds are like those inflicted on two other women, who died from their ordeal.
Can Meera keep the injured woman alive long enough for her to identify the assailant? Is the same person responsible for all three crimes?
When Hunter is identified as a suspect, can he establish his innocence and lead his team to solve the crime and keep Edinburgh safe?

I was pretty excited when this tour invite arrived. I am a fan of Val Pennys writing and this series. I picked up Hunter’s Rules and I was back with everyone.
Hunter is a favourite of mine; he is so likeable and relatable that I have cheered him on from the first Hunter book that I read. Val Penny certainly knows how to create characters that drive a plot. One that keeps you on your toes from the first page.
A gripping storyline that I found intriguing enough to really want to get to the bottom of it all. The author really racks up the tension and creepiness as the story develops. She also manages to balance the darkness with a touch of humour also, which I appreciated throughout.
As always with a Val Penny book, it’s well written with very well developed characters and the setting of Edinburgh, which I have never visited but feel I could recognise places if I ever went, her descriptions of the city are vivid in my mind.

A great addition to the Edinburgh Crime Mysteries series with action, tension, intrigue and humour too. I think I need to read the books I am missing from this series until Val Penny publishes another!
With thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Dark Stroke Books for my gifted copy of this book.
