Anca Antoci – Forget-Me-Not

Today I am on the Write Reads Tour for Forget-Me-Not. A book by an author that is brand new to me, so I really didn’t know what to expect from this first book in the Chimera series. A fantasy story with a  over that drew me in immediately.

Deceiving the vampire that saved her could get her killed, but it’s a risk she’s willing to take.

A debut novel that successfully blends fantasy with vampires and werewolves and even some romance too. The characters are strong and intriguing, too. I enjoyed seeing them actually develop as the story unfolded.

The action begins almost immediately as we are introduced to Rae. We are given flashbacks into her past. Throughout the book, we get to know her character and what has happened in her past and the present day. I really liked this as I felt I really knew her. She is flawed, but I felt that just made her more real to me as I discovered more about her.

This story clearly shows us the world that Anca Antoci has skilfully created, and I am looking forward to discovering more of this world as the series goes on. . The strength is in the characters and their places in this world. It held me from the first page and made me want to keep on reading until I just couldn’t anymore.

I am a sucker for vampires, and all things paranormal along with fantasy, too. This book ticked the boxes for me and a little more. I was intrigued by Rae, her journey, and the people she met on her way. So intrigued, I have found the second book in the series and am hoping to read it soon.

Living in Romania, Anca speaks English as a second language and is quite self-conscious about her accent, which is why she never speaks in her videos on TikTok. She loves taking long walks through the parks to recharge her batteries before a writing sprint. She loves cooking and can often be found in the kitchen trying out a new recipe while an audiobook keeps her entertained.
