‘The Lie She Told’ by Catherine Yaffe is her debut novel. A thriller that introduces us to Kate and her son Joe.

They are living up in the Scottish Highlands under witness protection, kate is finally content and happy after her turbulent past, her ex-husband is in prison and they are safe in a picturesque place where no one knows anything she doesn’t want them too. Until the day her fresh start is torn apart. a person from her past appears, and it can’t be a coincidence, in any, way, shape or form. Ryan is aware of every single secret Kate holds close and is capable of stripping her life bare so it falls apart.
I really felt the main characters are very believable and likeable and I actually cared what happened to Kate and her son. Ryan, on the other hand, sent a shiver down my spine with the menace he brought to the story. So well created though, enough to make the tension so thick it could be cut with a knife almost! As I sped through the book at a breakneck pace with Ryan dogging her every move and the tensions kept rising I couldn’t put the kindle down! I appreciated the ending too, it came to a satisfying conclusion.

A great debut from Catherine Yaffe, I must thank Zooloo’s Book Tours and the publisher for my copy of the book for today’s review.
