Tony Millington – Family First

‘Family First’ by Tony Millington is a debut novel which I have to say didn’t read like one. I felt like I was just reading a new series from someone who already had a few books under their belt.

Tony Millington

A book that reveals the murderer at the start so it focuses on the two detectives and the police investigation among other threads.

The two detectives, Monteith and Watson work together and are best mates out of work too. As you can imagine they work well together and they are diligent detectives, making it their mission to solve the crimes and catch the bad guys. They catch the murder case and work it as they should. Then things begin to escalate and the body count rises. As it becomes apparent that it could be a serial killer their skills are tested to the limit.

A short but satisfying book with more twists and turns to be expected as the story unfolds and Tony Millington manages to fit more shocks into the book too. I was really engrossed in this story, to the point of sitting there for way too long because I was thinking ‘Just one more chapter’.

I do hope Monteith and Watson return… I would like to learn more about these two detectives. I bet they have some stories to tell.

Thanks to Anne Cater of Random Things Tours and Dark Edge Press for the copy of the book.

  1. Hi Sharon. Thank you for this brilliant review. It blew me away. Monteith and Watson will return in October/November when the next instalment “Keep Your Friends Close” is published on kindle. Thank you again Tony.
