Our main characters Jessica and John are two astronauts who actually meet in a lecture hall years previously and we are privileged to be able to follow their journeys all the way up to their mission to Mars. Jessica is a hard-working and very determined woman who is going to be an astronaut and nothing will stop her. John is following in the hallowed footsteps of his grandma, a famous astronaut herself. John is on a mission to really prove that he is not just using his family name and he is worthy.
They are both on the team for the Mars mission, and as you would expect, love is not on the agenda between the members of the team…officially and unofficially. Can Jessica and John truly disregard their depth of feelings for each other and concentrate on this momentous mission in hand?

I adored this book! The fact that it is set against a space mission brought something different to the book. Between the two authors, they must have researched so much to get all the details they have into the mission side of the story. I have to say that I did wonder as I started the book if the Mars mission and the details would leave me confused, happy to report that the way it has been written it just flows and doesn’t overwhelm at any point.

The character development was excellent too. Empowered females who can still show their vulnerable side while not slowing down for one second are right on point. So well fleshed out and very relatable to me. I almost broke my own heart for Jessica and John too. Such an emotional and touching story that has been skillfully woven with all the research and details needed without drowning us in technicalities. One of the best love stories I have read in a while now.
