Jeffery Deaver – The Final Twist

‘The Final Twist’ by Jeffery Deaver is the third book in the Colter Shaw Thriller series. Colter Shaw, for the uninitiated, is a professional reward seeker, who finds people. He will find anyone, whether they have chosen to be lost or otherwise and whether they are good or bad. The book begins a few hours after the horrific events of The Goodbye Man.

Colter Shaw finds himself at a storage safe house, in SanFransico. His dad had started this mission but he died before he could complete it. Colter is following his dad’s cryptic clues to discover the information he needs that will take down Blackridge Corporate solutions. A corporation that acted with impunity against countless people and also caused the death of Colter Shaw’s father. He finds himself on a high adrenaline and crazy rollercoaster ride that culminates in him being right in front of those who murdered his dad. A journey he needs to complete but not before he is faced with one final twist!

For me, a Jeffrey Deaver book keeps me busy and truly engrossed. It really does not matter which series, I appreciate every word he has written. The Colter Shaw Series is best read in order. This is a tense, twisty and oh my word, so action-packed. I feel it is best if you follow the timeline. You can fully understand the magic that is Deaver also then, I think anyway.
Colter Shaw is an interesting character, his survivalist skills make him a little different. Although, anyone who reads Jeffrey Deaver knows his characters always have some edge to make them stick in the mind. Who can ever forget my favourite Lincoln Rhyme? Everyone is a unique individual from Deavers imagination.

The Final Twist is a whirlwind of a read, mystery, suspense, danger and espionage are all woven into a story that whisks you away on Colter’s mission and boy, you better get ready! A book I was most definitely glued to until the last word.
