Keith Dixon – The Two Fathers

‘The Two Fathers’ by Keith Dixon is the eleventh book in the Sam Dyke Investigations series. I started reading the book mindful of the fact I hadn’t read all the others but it is fine as a standalone too.

Keith Dixon

PI Sam Dyke reluctantly finds himself taking a new case on. Worried husband Brian comes to Sam requesting him to discover why his wife, Jessica is arriving home late a few times a week. Sam isn’t keen to take it on but Brian convinces him. As Sam investigates what Jessica is getting up to, more questions raise their ugly head and when Brian goes missing he can’t walk away from this without finding the answers. As he digs deeper he finds himself in the eyesight of a man he would rather not have heard of.

Every time I pick up a book by Keith Dixons, I always feel like I get so involved in the story it’s almost home in a way. Although it may have something to do with this gritty PI thriller being set in Manchester! My home city. Keith has the knack of being able to bring the setting and the unsavoury character to life and that, along with the story grabs you and holds you till the very end. Keith always manages to weave some humour into every book I have read of his and this gives me a little chuckle at times, even when the plot is getting dark and dangerous. I really feel I should start at the beginning of Sam’s PI journey and learn more of his back story, he is definitely an interesting man. I liked the fact that even eleven books later Sam is fresh and is even now still evolving.

A story full of danger, mystery and intrigue that has you wondering what will happen next.

Thank you to Damp Pebbles Blog Tours and Keith Dixon for my copy of the book today.
