Matt Wesolowski – Deity

‘Deity’ by Matt Wesolowski is the newest instalment in his Six Stories Series, Book number five to be precise. I have previously read the first book Six Stories and not had a chance to read the rest, I am planning to buy every book in the series. Yes, if you haven’t read any of these you are missing so much.

Matt Wesolowski

Deity brings a subject that has been in our news such a lot over the last few years, celebrity scandals. In a way it is almost too close to reality to be classed as fiction, it is more than edging to the crime facts side!

Matt’s Six Stories series is written in a podcast style and it works brilliantly as it is interesting and also catchy. This time Scott King is investigating allegations about a popstar by attempting to discover what really happened behind closed doors in his life and death. As always he interviews six people (one is a couple so actually seven) about Zach Crystal, his life and also his mysterious death. Zach was hounded by controversy when he was alive. The fact that he was a recluse and seen by some as a bit of a philanthropist, although the money donated did usually go to young girls and it was noted. There are two sides to every story…in this series there are six and this book highlights the many faces of Zach Crystal… in a chilling and stark manner.

I must be honest here and say that I feel my review does not do this book justice, for me it reflected the horror stories of our times and how people with power can use and abuse. Matt’s writing is excellent and I must say I was quite jumpy when I got to the end. A book that needs to be read to be appreciated fully!

Thank you to Orenda Books for the copy of the book for this review today.
