Cathryn Grant – The Other Couple

‘The Other Couple’ by Cathryn Grant is her new psychological thriller that was published on the 6th December by Inkubator Books.

Cathryn Grant

The story revolves around Maggie and Brad. A couple who have gone on vacation to Lake Tahoe to attempt to reconnect with each other. Upon meeting a couple, Sky and Joe, the couple feel they get on so well that Maggie offers them to share their lakeside house. Sky and Joe accept and join them for the vacation and after they have arrived Maggie and Brad begin to conclude that it wasn’t coincidental that they met this couple and they certainly have their agenda. It’s just a question of what is their agenda?

Told from multiple perspectives so we gain an understanding of each character. Their lives, personalities and also what is driving them, even though we have this knowledge there is no cut and dried answer to which people in the group are the guilty ones. This leaves you questioning all of them throughout. One thing I must say is I wasn’t overly keen on any of them.

Cathryn Grant is an author that I think is exceptionally good at twists and turns, I have previously read her other book and I enjoyed the way she created the sense of tension and the way she gets me attempting to work out who is playing what part in the story, and ultimately who will be the main player. This story is as well spun. She manages to hold my attention constantly and I enjoy that in a book.

The Other Couple is a tense, thrilling and most definitely gripping read. Cathryn again holding me in that spell of her writing and creativity. I am looking forward to what she writes next and hope it isn’t too far in the future.

With thanks to Damp Pebbles Blog Tours and Inkubator Books for my copy of the book for my review.
