Tim Adler – Dead Already

‘Dead Already’ by Tim Adler is a scintillating mix of gangland crossed over with a supernatural thriller.

I was so curious about this book, I really could not let it go for any length of time. This is a really captivating read that fired my imagination.
The characters have been so skilfully created that they almost leap off the page, they are that believable.
Mickey speight is an East End villain who moved to Margate for a fresh start. He is quite the loner and hasn’t had an easy life at all. Thirty years ago he saw his daughter, Megan, die. Now he is receiving messages from her…

A time-slip story that shows us the past, and it’s written in a different font, so pretty clear. As the story unfolds, past and present we see that it is the past that affects Mickey and what exactly he did in that past.
The past is slowly revealed as we read so as not to overdose us with too much information at once and I think the author has done a good job in this. The supernatural and psychological side to the story creates another side to the story, with the arrival of messages from his dead daughter it gave me the chills. A sense of what if? By this time I was so immersed I was out of my life and in Mickey’s until the last word!

A great mix of psychological thriller with gangland that was right up my street. I would recommend this book if you love your gangland stories with a more sinister, psychological side to them.

Thanks to Damp Pebbles Blog Tours and Tim Adler for the copy of the book for my review today.
