Andy Hamilton – Longhand

‘Longhand’ by Andy Hamilton, more well known for helping us have fantastic comedy on the TV, has created a book which kept me laughing and reading, through one of the worst times for us in recent times. To start off I have to say I love how he has handwritten the main part of this book, not at all normal these days.

Andy Hamilton

It is a letter from Malcolm to his partner Bess. We never meet his partner of twenty years but, we know enough as the story unfolds, to know she is brave, sensible, strong…oh and loves her swear words! This letter is to say farewell to Bess, the woman from one of the many lives he has had and this letter also tells his story. Beginning with how he managed to become a Demi-God and how he found himself in Scotland.

I loved the fact that Malcolm had conversations with Zeus as well. He reflects on his mistakes, the error of his ways and the humour had me cracked up. I was sucked into Malcolm’s previous lives and felt like I was taking a ride on an emotional rollercoaster throughout his pretty long life. With him during his tragedies and his joyful times too.
A book that has you reflecting on almost everything what life is to everyone in their own different ways. I adored the cover of this book and the contents definitely did not disappoint either.

Thank you goes to Random Things Tours and @Unbounders for the copy of this marvellous book for my review today.
