T.J. Brearton – The Road To Mercy

The Road To Mercy is the second book featuring Special Agent Shannon Ames in this instalment, a former federal prosecutor Lucy Donato goes missing and then her husband Bob is caught leaving the state with their two children. Bob is not a man known to do rash things, so Shannon takes the chase to protect the children. She realises not all is right but as the story unfolds she realises this will not be forgotten easily.

I love Shannon, she just throws herself into a case and doesn’t stop till she solves it. The book is a fast-paced read that I personally could not put down. The mystery of Bob fleeing with the kids made it an intriguing tense story that had me on the edge of my seat at times throughout the story. I do hope there will be more Shannon Ames books added to the series as I think she is a great character and her inner strength is clearly shown in the way she pursues the cases she has until it’s over.
