Tony J. Forder – Slow Slicing

‘Slow Slicing’ by Tony J. Forder is the seventh book in the DI Bliss series, as always when faced with a new Bliss story I cannot wait to get stuck in! It is possible to read this book as a standalone due to Tony Forder’s skill in writing, but for maximum enjoyment start from number one and you will soon be racing through!
Slow slicing, in my opinion, is his best yet.

Tony Forder

Bliss is on the case of flesh being left in really odd places, and when I say flesh I actually mean a slice of flesh. One found in a cathedral and appears in a long barrow near Swindon. The reason Bliss is on the case is that both pieces have letters carved into them, of no sense at this point.
Somewhere else there is a man, being slowly sliced and tortured beyond anything the mind can consider…

Bliss has so little to work on and no apparent victim he has his work cut out on this one. He needs to try to find the victim before it is too late. As well as this we see get to see Molly, who was part of the previous book’ Endless Silent Scream’, return and with that, we see Bliss in a better place and showing his softer side too. Off course, it doesn’t last long, before we know it he is back at work! I love the teamwork and the banter that comes with being in a team. Everybody plays their part. Bliss and Penny Chandler are a prime example and I love it! Tony really has got to grips with his characters.

Slow Slicing is fast-paced, and as always with Tony Forder and his books a skillfully written police procedural. It is a tad on the darker side but it makes for an excellent, gritty and realistic read. What can I say, I just love the Bliss books and I am sure I always will!

A massive thank you to Books On The Bright Side for allowing me to be a part of Tony’s tour and an even bigger thank you to Tony Forder for the copy of the book and also for creating Bliss.
