Stuart Field – Blood And Steel

‘Blood and Steel’ by Stuart Field is the first book I have read in this series. This is the fourth book in the John Steel series and boy we hit the ground running for sure. I did love the story and was able to keep up, but I am sure if I had read all three previously the enjoyment would have intensified as there are long-running things happening as well.

Stuart Field

An action book that never lets down on its promise, I was soon swept away into Detective John Steel’s world. A British copper working for the NYPD with his partner, Detective
Samantha McCall. He has his mysterious past and his secrets to boot. This book carries on from the previous one in the search for SANTINI and Steel’s determination to track SANTINI down. His one-man mission I think. As I said the beginning of the story hits the ground running and we are met with death immediately. This event brings the past back with a bang and not a good one.

We discover a bit more about Steels past as the book goes on and, yes, he is a bit of a Bond or any action hero that is charismatic, and daring. I really took a liking to Steel, with his all-action hero. On the other hand, we have quality teamwork as well, which is a great part of the story, it shows that Steel is much more than a one-man band and I got to know McCall, a no-nonsense, strong leader as well, perfectly matched alongside steel.

In conclusion, if you want a fast, high action, non stop adrenaline rush this is perfect! I now need to take a breather and find the others in the series. Thanks to Damp Pebbles Blog Tours and the publishers for the copy of the book.
