Karin Slaughter – The Silent Wife

‘The Silent Wife’ by Karin Slaughter is the brand new instalment in the Will Trent and Sara Linton Grant County series. After 20 books in 20 years, which is a marvellous achievement on its own, Karin shows us just how skilful she still is at weaving a fabulous story that still brings new readers into the fold after all this time.

Karin Slaughter

Will is trying to get a handle on a prison inmate murder that took place during a riot when he is given some information that shocks him to the core. An inmate is claiming he was a scapegoat for a number of attacks on women in Grant County. The evidence and case embellished and created by Tolliver, the chief of police back then and Sara’s husband at the time who is dead. He also states that Lena Adams, a fellow officer of Tollivers was party to this also. The inmate has also been keeping track of other victims and it looks like the killer is still on the loose.

This information blows Will’s life in bit’s. The people involved in this historical case are all part of Will’s life past and present. The book then dips into the past, Jeffrey Tolliver is centre stage and we are back into Grant County when Tolliver first arrived and we see the personal and professional sides of a Police Chief who is struggling with his marriage while attempting to snare a killer who was barbaric and brutal in his ways.

Karin Slaughter manages to expertly take us back into history and mix it back into the present day without missing a beat. Her storytelling is exceptional, always has been and I am sure will continue to be into the future. An author who brings us brutality and we still rush to turn the page. A killer with a twisted mind creating a shock horror for us readers every time and we still want more!
The Silent Wife is an exceptional addition to Karin Slaughter’s library of books and I highly recommend it. Absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Random Things Tours for this extra special blog tour.Thank you for a copy of the book in order to take part.
