Savage Gods by Peter Boland is a definite action thriller! I picked this up with no preconceptions as I have not read any of the previous John Savage books. I was dropped straight into action!

John is an ex SAS veteran and is suffering PTSD, something he ain’t too keen on admitting. His good friend Tannaz, a computer whizz who seems to be the only person who can keep Savage’s ‘demon’ in his head away, Jeff. The one who holds him back, he is connected to his PTSD.
Savage and Tannaz are requested to aid the Met Police in a serial killer case that has just come to light. The ‘Four Pillars Of Atheism’, an intellectual group, finds that 2 of its “pillars” members have been murdered and D.C.I Roberts needs answers and quick! In order to do that she brings Savage and Tannaz in to, hopefully, find the killer fast! The action comes thick and fast along with the tension which builds throughout! Sometimes more than others!
The plot of Savage Gods is an original and scary one, I found it fast-paced and very exciting. I really like John Savage and Tannaz and I am thinking I really need to read the other three, although this book does work really well as a stand-alone.
