The Silva’s are back! Turf Wars is the third book in the Silva’s series. I have read all the books in the series and have been looking forward to this one.

Gillian Godden is known for writing gritty and realistic gangland thrillers, and this is another perfect example. Alex Silva is fresh out of prison. He just wants to keep his head down and stay out of trouble. The problem is he finds himself in the middle of a turf war through no fault of his own. He has a tough choice to make. Will he make the right one?

The Silva’s are a family that I could liken to a car crash! You know what’s coming, but you can’t tear your eyes away. From the very first book, I have been addicted to this series. The characters could be real they are that well developed and described. The kids cause so much trouble for Alex that I almost feel sorry for him at times.

If you enjoy gangland thrillers, this is a book for you, maybe series too! Addictive and tense, I spend most of my time on the edge of my seat just expecting something bad to happen! I hope there are more books for the Silva’s, I hated getting to the end of this one.

Gillian Godden is a brilliantly reviewed writer of gangland fiction as well as a full-time NHS Key Worker in Hull. She lived in London for over thirty years, where she sets her thrillers, and during this time worked in various stripper pubs and venues which have inspired her stories.
