I’m thrilled to have L.B. Stimson on the blog again today with As The Moon Fell Down. Thanks to Zooloo’s Book Tours and L.B Stimson for my ARC of the book.
In the spring of 1982, photographer Ellie Spaulding conned her way into the perfect setting to complete her upcoming gallery show; a secluded farmhouse in rural Virginia.
There were only two rules to follow. She soon learns the house is keeping secrets and those dwelling within it have been waiting for someone to expose them.
Once again, L.B. Stimson has created a terrifying ghostly tale inspired by her own haunting experiences. Readers will find themselves immersed in the lives of both the living and the dead as the veil is broken, worlds collide, and secrets are revealed.
As The Moon Fell Down is yet another L.B. Stimson book that hit my sweet spot when it comes to trying to scare the life out of me with the supernatural.
Her skill of creating characters and settings that make me feel like I am there with them, is brilliant. This book did exactly that. I really felt like I was by Ellie’s side as she began to experience weird things as she lives in an abandoned house. She had to agree to two odd rules in order to live there. One was not to go through a locked door in the house. The only issue is she is strangely drawn to the door. I was uneasy for her as other things come to light.
The house has a character all of it’s own. L.B Stimson has this gift that means the gothic style of this house gave me the absolute creeps immediately. I hardly needed Ellie to make it worse as things began to happen. As she became increasingly uneasy at the events she was experiencing, the feeling of foreboding got worse and worse.
As this chilling story unfolds, the pace truly ramps up, as does the danger to Ellie. This is such an atmospheric, downright scary story that I was on the edge of my seat, with goosebumps on my arms too. It feels weird to say I loved a gothic horror story but I did! Again L.B. Stimson has ticked every box for me. Got to be a five star for sure!
