Stuart Field – Ice Cold Steel

Thanks to Donna Morfett and the author for my gifted ebook to write my honest review for today.

A year after the murder of his family, John Steel is in hiding in the wilds of Alaska. He thinks his war is over and he can relax into a quiet life, but a tourist plane crash changes everything.

As he searches to bring the survivors to safety, a new threat appears in the guise of an old enemy. Now, he must fight for his and the group’s survival, and prevent the leak of information to the public that would have disastrous consequences.

With the mercenaries of the Santini organisation closing in, does John Steel still have what it takes to get the job done?

An action-packed, high-octane crime thriller, ICE COLD STEEL is the seventh book in Stuart Field’s John Steel series.

The seventh John Steel book, and it feels like yesterday when I was introduced to this series. I haven’t read every book in the series, but I know I will do just that at some point. This author always includes some info in each book to make them easier to read as standalones. I do appreciate that. It makes it easier to dip in and out as I go.

Stuart Field certainly knows how to keep a reader gripped! I can never put these books down for too long after I start reading. This one is no different, and we see John in Alaska alone after his family has died. The plot unfolds from there, and we see how he manages in the aftermath of the biggest tragedy of anyone’s life, never mind John Steel’s.

Fast paced with his recognisable short chapters, I was happy to be back with John Steel, so much action and twists to raise the tension and make it an adrenaline raising read!
