Frances Lloyd – Murder In Disguise

I thoroughly enjoyed this cosy murder mystery. As soon as I began reading it I knew that I was going to enjoy it straight away. It’s a definite who dunnit.

The story opens with Annie Caxton who enjoys her Friday nights “out with the girls”, while leaving her hubby at home in front of the tv. He is boring Annie to death and she looks forward to her Friday nights. Annie also has a secret which is about to be found out, but what can be done?

Melbury Park Hotel is under new ownership. The owners: Mr Neville Blewitt and his wife. They decide to hold a William Shakespeare themed celebration, over three days, to celebrate The Bard’s Birthday, and to remember the date of his passing. The celebration seemed to be a huge hit… Until a body is found in Room 4, which is a part of the hotel still being refurbished. And then a valued member of staff appears to have disappeared! Are these things linked? The problems start when Detectives Harry Montague and Gavin Jones realise that only one person staying in the new wing had registered under a genuine name and address. The cases begin!

Every strand of the story is weaved together deftly and all comes to light…eventually! The added twists had me guessing throughout! A book by an author I shall read more of in the future!
