I am on blog tour for Tapestry by Beth Duke. It is a lovely story of 21 year old Skye and her quest to find her roots. She feels lost in the world, with no ultimate purpose. Her grandmother Sparrow, as she wishes to be known, is insistent that she is descended from Native Indians. With this in mind, Sparrow and Sky both decide to take a DNA test to prove once and for all if there is any truth in her grandmothers claim. The results blow both their life’s from underneath them.

I felt for Skye’s mother throughout this book. She has raised Skye with her mother Sparrow by her side since she was born and has told Sky her father was killed in Afghanistan. No more, no less, her refusal to discuss him has aided the way Skye feels about her place in the world too.
Two fantastically strong matriachs for Sky to have on her side! The title being so apt, ‘Tapestry’, the big picture in life, how everyone weaves their stories together to make one large picture. Skye has a hard journey, with life changing decisions to make, but with the right people by your side, anything is possible!
The characters, in particular Sparrow, is one of them women who isn’t forgotten easily, even when the books over and done. The history within the story, just gives the story even more depth. I really enjoyed dipping into a little part American history also for this Random Things Blog Tours of #Tapestry by Beth Duke, @bethidee.
