Shalini Boland’s newest book, One of Us is Lying, is as one would expect if you have previously read anything by Shalini, as unputdownable as anything she has written. Another book which, once you pick it up, you are immersed in the fictional world she has created.

One of us is Lying is centred around three friends, Tia, Kelly and Fiona and their imperfect lives. Starting when Tia’s five year old daughter asks her mother why did she kill someone?! She also receives photographs that could implode her life. Kelly, a recent widow and as soft as they come, decides to allow a stranger to stay in her home. And finally Fiona. The fiercely ambitious, mysterious one. An interior designer who is solely concentrating on her career for the foreseeable future, and is being audited by the taxman. Weird things keep happening, rumours, pictures strange texts, who is it down too? What could be going on?
