Rabette Run by Nick Rippington is a thriller with a difference! Even the title, in my opinion, brings to mind a surrealism you don’t usually find in thrillers. The blurb actually states “Alice in Wonderland meets James Bond”.

The main character, Emerson Rabette, has to interview for a position in his company as they are downsizing. He has to travel on the underground to get there, something he has a deep phobia about. He also struggles with his OCD, so has his rituals to complete before he does anything else. Once he actually gets on the undergound he sees a message “Run, Rabette, Run!” This sends him down his own rabbit hole. Cue the weird and crazy characters met along his way! Nick Rippington certainly makes the scenes real and they are so vivid they could be real!!
The sensitive and serious issues Emerson deals with daily are treated with sensitivity and a gentleness I totally understood and with that said the story is not with it’s humour. One minute you can be laughing and the next the seriousness hits you!
This is my first book by Nick and I will certainly be looking out for his others. A big thank you to Sarah Hardy@ BOTBSPublicity for asking me to be a part of Nick’s Blog Tour! I certainly enjoyed the ride!!
