Rainy Days For The Harpers Girls by Rosie Clarke is a historical fiction saga. The third book in the ‘Welcome To The Harpers Emporium’, but it is fine to read as a stand-alone. I don’t really think it detracts from the story just don’t expect not to WANT to read the rest!

This particular instalment starts at the beginning if the first World War, when the men were going off to war and the suffragette movement was forefront. It shows how peoples perspectives were changing and women wanted to carry on working after they got married as well as having the vote. The class divide is also evident at this time, people who couldn’t carry on in education and had to work instead. This is a story that follows the Harper Girls through their trials and tribulations and their happy times of romance and the births of babies.

I love a good Historical saga and these books are a cosy read. I am transported back in time with the author, she makes me feel like I could almost be in the period of time she writes about and the characters are so well developed and lifelike that I could almost know them. A delightful story of the Harper Girls that I hope the author carries on for a while. Thank you to Rararesources for asking me to be a part of this lovely Blog Tour.
