Rod Reynolds – Blood Red City

Rod Reynolds’ ‘Blood Red City’ was a fantastically good read. A really fast-paced thriller set in London that had me hooked from the beginning.

Rod Reynolds

Lydia is an investigative journalist who has been given the new post of show business for the American audience so she has to work nights and it’s boring her to death. She is chomping at the bit to get back to her real job. Then one day she is sent a video of a murder on a London train from an unknown source, she thinks this will be the way to get her career back on track. The only problem is she can’t find anyone who has witnessed anything from the video. She begins to think it was fake news but has doubts so she decides to investigate further as it could be a cover-up. The more she investigates she begins to come to the attention some scary people and it seems there are people who do not want the truth of this video to come out.

Michael Stringer has Lydia in his sights, he wants the information that video holds also. The only difference is he is prepared to do anything to find out the information. A powerful man with a ruthless side to him makes him dangerous for Lydia, or not?

The pace of the story almost left me breathless at points. A slick story, with echoes of the BBC drama The Capture which I loved as much as this book. I would like to see more books with Lydia and Michael as well. Thanks to Orenda Books for the copy of Blood Red City to review for this blog tour.
