Deadly Secrets by Ann Girdharry is the second book in the David Grant and Ruby Silver crime thriller series. Ruby has now been employed by Sussex Police as a psychologist after helping in a previous case for Grant and his team. Grant is now a DCI having been promoted.

Use This story starts with a nurse loved by all, Michelle Dixon who is caring for a dying ex headmaster of a borstal that turned into an approved school for young offenders called Mr Quinn. He carries a horrible secret and with his dying breath tells Michelle. This is a secret she will wish she never knew as someone has been watching and decides to make sure they are safe by taking Michelle out of the equation so their secret is safe. Grant, his team and Ruby dig into Quinn’s past attempting to find a link with Michelle’s death and discover two unsolved cases were two boys went missing. This case has connections to a member of Grants team so is not the easiest case to deal with. Although it is a hard one the teamwork on with a seemingly impossible cast.

The story is a great one with every aspect of the case covered with interspersed chapters with the killer themself, this brings is even closer to the case as I was willing the team on all the way! I loved the addition of a profiler within the team too, Ruby seems to be settling in and proving herself as an important member of the team. I am looking forward to the next instalment with Grant and the team! Thank you to Rachels Random Resources and the author for allowing to be on the blog tour.
