Mark Stay – The End Of Magic

‘The End Of Magic’ by Mark Stay is a fantasy standalone novel and while I always think fantasy is not one of my favourite genres this book is one, like Laura Laakso’s Fallible Justice…I loved it! I picked up my kindle and as soon as I began the first page I was there with the all characters in this magical world.

Mark Stay

It is a wonderful tale beginning as all fantasy traditional stories do. Plot and world-building and all the magical creatures and mages that always come along with fantasy with the warmongers who want to rule the fantasy land and then everything is turned around by the destruction of the moon that sources all magic. With the absence of magic the magical creatures start dying, the mages have no other powers and then the evil creatures are able to gain everything they wished for with all the negative abilities and no one is strong enough to stand up to them.

This is an excellent story with a unique mix of characters and I was engrossed in this sometimes dark and even humorous at times world. I have only ever read one other book that Mark has been involved with and I enjoyed that in a different way The End Of Magic makes me wonder if I need to research what else Mark Stay has written, I enjoyed it so much. It definitely spirited me away from the COVID Pandemic for the length of time I was reading it.

My greatest thanks go to Overview Media and Mark Stay for letting me have a copy of the book so I could open up the fantastic magical tour that is for The End Of Magic.
