Mystery Island by Jim Ody is an adventure thriller for sure. I have read a few of Jim’s other books so knew it should be a good read, well, I was more than right!

The story centred around a young couple, Kyle and Donna who are about to embark on a treasure hunt. Donna has been left a map that promises her untold wealth, she just has to go to a Hawaiian Island then find someone who will take her out in the ocean and, yeah, dive for the treasure. She has Kyle who will do absolutely anything for her, anything so they stay together.
Once in Maui, they are oblivious of everything and everyone. Donna only cares about herself and as long as Kyle is doing what she expects, everything is fine and dandy. Kyle only sees Donna, they are both too wrapped up in Kyle and Donna world to notice anything important..like maybe they ain’t alone and somebody is way too interested in what Donna and Kyle are doing.

Well, the prologue started with a bang and I was hooked! To add to that Jim’s writing was so descriptive he brought Maui to life so I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the island too! I mean who wouldn’t enjoy a treasure hunt with a twist then even a sprinkle of murder and kidnapping? Jim definitely keeps me on my toes while reading this! He has that clever knack of keeping it tense while also injecting some humour into the story which stops the story becoming a bit too dark.
All in all a fantastic story that grabbed me from the start and didn’t let go till the end. Thanks to Books On The Bright Side for the copy of the book in order for me to join this great blog tour today.
