The Casanova Papers by Kate Zarrelli is an erotic romance blended with historical fiction. Ellie Murphy goes to Italy to teach English there as she needs to get away from home. She also starts curating Casanova’s Papers with an Italian professor Piero Contarini, which becomes more of an erotic reenactment of their take on the memoirs.

The author has certainly managed to spice this story up and bring to life Venice as well as bring the hint of mystery and tension to pull the story together into one heated, interesting quick read. The only other book I have read within this genre was Fifty Shades Of Grey so not comparable as this has a historical twist and I really enjoyed that. It seemed to give substance to the erotica as well.
