‘The Wife Support System’ by Kathleen Whyman is a hilarious feel-good story. It begins with three women moving in together with all their children for various reasons. Every woman having a different idea on what the house share or support system they are creating will mean.

They leave behind husbands and partners to join anxiety-ridden Polly and her own two children. Cue the ensuing drama when one of the three women don’t pull their weight in the agreement, or they clash due to personalities, jealousy or even just misunderstandings… and then with women, there is the added dash of hormonal behaviour! This makes for a book that explores a lot of issues such as relationships, neglect, loss and grief. Then comes along work/life balance too. All these are dealt with the reality of life and then some of the comedy that makes me want to keep turning the pages. I loved the antics of these three.

A really original debut that is emotional as well as funny and light. I will definitely be reading more from Kathleen Whyman in the future. Thanks to Rachels Random Resources for letting me be part of this Mum focused story’s blog tour today.
