‘Villain’ by Caro Savage is a fabulous mix of gangland thriller and police procedural. It is the second book featuring D.C Bailey Morgan and the first book I have read in this series, it actually works very well as a standalone also.

In Villain, Bailey agrees to go undercover again, this time into a big crime family in London, the Molloys, a family with fingers in every pie going. She needs to get the family and everyone around them to trust her in order for her to get the evidence needed for a big charge. This is not an easy task and if she gets discovered she may pay, with her life! Bailey needs to be 110% with this assignment but memories crowd her mind from previous jobs, can she get over this barrier to complete the job or not?
A fantastic woman! I loved Bailey and thought she was one feisty woman. A woman attempting to infiltrate a crime family, just the thought of what she had to do filled me with dread. She is a strong, clever and ingenious copper. I read the first meeting with the Molloy family and that pressure alone was enough for me to say, no thanks!

I totally enjoyed Villain, it held everything needed in a gangland story. Filled with excitement, truly intense drama and obvious danger at any point. Bailey has to deal with these things constantly and I applaud her for having the guts to face it all. We have to remember, with crime families comes violence and lots of it, she faces all this with bravery and determination. A story that had me holding my breath in parts and racing to turn the pages it had me that immersed.A gritty and totally unpredictable book, that I can recommend to readers who love Mandasue Heller, Martina Cole, Kimberley Chambers anybody who enjoys a gritty thriller will love this!

Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the book and my place on the blog tour today.
