Chaz Murrell – Yearn To Fear

‘Yearn to Fear’ by Chaz Murrell is a sci-fi story blended with a spy thriller that also has romance within the story too. The beauty of taking part in book blog tours is that I am introduced to authors I would never usually pick up. I am really happy that I chose to take part in this tour, yet another author I have discovered.

A story that is set after our global pandemic of COVID-19 and in Australia. Marcus has developed the Marc1, a device that sends people to sleep after a few minutes of listening to it. A device that uses a 5G wi-fi receiver from CSIRO which has some odd side effects. Marcus works for a company that, as the story unfolds, he realises is not as trustworthy and honest as he thought.

An immersive and fast-moving story that brings the political intrigue along with spies, mystery and chaos. A book which the author has very clearly done so much research for and poured his heart and soul into. I was carried away with the characters and even found it had some humour throughout. This set of characters are ones I was definitely cheering on. There is technical stuff in the story but I found it okay to read, others may not find it as easy but that is a personal thing.

All in all, I really loved popping into the future for the time it took me to read this book.

Thanks to Damp Pebbles blog tours and Chaz Murrell for the book to write this review.
