‘The Crazy Season’ is another book I just couldn’t put down by Jim Ody. Every time I see a release by him I have to read it as I know it will be a brilliant read. ‘The Crazy Season’ is the first book of a new series so I jumped at the chance to join this tour.

Joel Baxter is infamous for solving weird and bizarre cases that others avoid. So, when he receives an email from a teenage boy Tim saying his town is cursed, he cannot turn it down.
He is so used to the weird and wonderful so his interest is piqued. His best friends sister, Melody joins him in the search for the background to the curse of the crazy season. Little do they know what is in store for them as they dig deeper.
Jim Ody has written a story that holds you immediately, even the cover itself made me want to read it. He has a knack of drawing you into a story that seems straightforward and then, the multiple layers start appearing and the mystery and intrigue just keeps on going. I was so into the story I almost felt I was with Joel and Melody feeling like these two were my friends. Two strong characters who are really likeable and real. They both show a determination that shines through. I got to say they work well together and seem like they were made to work together. Melody is great, I think her straight-talking is refreshing. Her, what appear to be carefree ways, are so not as simple as the story unfolds. Her layers of personality slowly reveal as we move forward.

I am hopeful that Jim Ody has a second book to follow up sooner rather than later. I think his work is great normally and I think ‘The Crazy Season’ is a riveting and really twisty read with great characters and a mystery that keeps you reading ‘just one more page’. Roll on the next book!
Thanks to ZooLoo’s Book Tours and Jim Ody for my copy of the book
