‘False Allegiance’ by Nick Thacker is the third book in the Jake Parker series. I have followed this series from the start and I can guarantee an action-packed story.

This time Jake finds himself investigating his father and as the story unfolds Jake discovers the consequences of this are much more serious than could be imagined. As Jake gets deeper he fears the choice is between his family and his country. One which is made more difficult as we get further into the story.
A thrilling read with high stakes and lots of action that really keeps you engrossed and stuck to the book. I couldn’t put it down for any length of time the fact I was constantly wondering about. A cat and mouse chase that sees Jake travelling to Africa with Holland, his friend, to stop the bad guys.
I love all the books in this series and find Jake a likeable and realistic main character. He is a tough cookie but in a realistic way. In this book, we find out more about his back story and I am enjoying the drip-feeding of this. It always leaves you wanting to know it all.

As always Nick Thacker has brought a gritty thriller with interesting characters and left us plenty to think about while we wait for his next instalment to drop.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the copy of the book.
