My Review
I was so pleased when I saw this book! I loved the first, so I knew I would enjoy this too! A military sci-fi adventure that is such a thrilling and fast-paced read!
We return to Captain Jim Garrett, a man who thought he was done with his Navy career until an alien attack had him in charge of an experimental warship. Now, in the aftermath of the attack, he has a fleet of ships, all battered and ragged. He also has crews who are inexperienced and exhausted. Jim is determined to mould them into a lethal fighting force.
Rival captains who are motivated by jealousy, aliens disguised as humans planning to wreck as many ships as possible, all work against Jim in his quest to save humanity. Will he be the victor, or will humanity be decimated by the alien forces?
This author knows how to keep a reader gripped! It’s such an addictive and thrilling read. The character’s so well created and developed that you can’t help but invest in them. I really couldn’t choose a favourite between them all!
A fast moving story, which meant I couldn’t help but keep turning the pages. This meant I read deep into the night just to finish it and see what was next for Jim and his ships. I love that the action is non-stop all the way.
I was in the palm of the author’s hand from the first to last page! The way he weaves a story is so skilful. The fact that this book builds on the first makes it even more entertaining! I hope to see another book soon in this marvellous series!
