“National Treasure/Da Vinci Code and Egypt… a hit”
“If you’re a fan of smart, fast-paced thrillers with historical depth, this one’s for you”
When Egyptologist Alex MacLure’s friend and mentor dies he’s stunned to discover she’s left a message—hidden, encoded, and meant only for him.
With a mysterious artifact and a trail of cryptic symbols, Alex is thrust into a deadly race against time. What begins as a quest to finish her research quickly spirals into a chilling conclusion: her death was no accident. She was murdered for what she discovered.
Now he’s the next target.
Hunted by a ruthless adversary, Alex finds himself swept from the academic halls of London to the heart of Egypt’s oldest sites.
As he races to decode a forgotten truth buried beneath centuries of deception, powerful enemies close in—willing to kill to protect a secret—a revelation so explosive, it could rewrite everything we know about ancient Egypt and religion.
My Review
Murray Bailey has been on my ‘go-to’ list if author’s for some time now. This is his first book in the Egyptian Stones series. I knew this would be a cracking read even before I read the blurb. That’s how much I enjoy his books.
I didn’t fully know what to expect, so I managed to keep an open mind when starting to read. I needn’t even thought about it! It is yet another intruiging and exciting adventure. Murray Bailey has yet again transported me to his world. The facts and fiction blended so well that I couldn’t tell where one ended and the other began.
His characters are so well developed and feel like I could actually know them. The red herrings kept me guessing throughout, and the storyline had me so invested! The setting was so well described I wanted to actually be there.
The twists, turns, and mystery of this book are all entwined to deftly that I was almost addicted to it! I am really looking forward to the next book!! I would definitely recommend this for any mystery lovers out there.
