Dirty Games is the second in the Frenchurch Falls series. I have been waiting for this book since I finished reading the first Dirty Business. Evie Hunter is an author whose books I never fail to thoroughly enjoy, so when I saw this book was coming, I was thrilled!
I was so happy to be back with Callie, Dawn, and Angie. Callie’s husband, Gavin, is still on the missing list. She is still running the spa, trying to keep the sharks at bay. She knows it could all fall apart so easily. Dawn finds herself in a position that means she will betray Callie. Will she go ahead? Or will their secrets be the undoing of both of them?
Evie Hunter writes revenge thrillers so well. She is so skilful in incorporating some gangland into her stories. They are gritty and feel so tense, too! Her characters are developed well enough to feel like I could know them. My heart went out for Caliie with her missing husband and having to try to keep balancing everything. The fact that she can play dirty is her saving grace. I was so immersed in her story and cheering her on all the way.
I always get invested in Evie Hunter’s characters, no matter which book. She has a natural gift for storytelling, which draws the reader in from the first page. I find they are not a book I can leave for any length of time. Dirty Games is no different such a riveting read!
