Thanks to Donna Morfett and Stuart Field for the gifted ebook to write my honest review.
In a crumbling American city, six thieves stumble upon the score of a lifetime.
The Old Buna Mansion is rumored to be filled with treasures beyond their wildest dreams. All they have to do is break in, grab the goods, and get out. Easy.
But inside, they face a choice: take what they can from the rooms above, or venture into the catacombs in search of a prize beyond imagination.
As they descend, each room will test them in ways they never expected. As bonds fracture and trust erodes, will the mansion claim its due?
My Review
Stuart Field is an author who I am very familiar with. I have read his John Steel series and love them! This is his first horror story, a novella with a cover that is pretty creepy, for me anyway.
The Old Buna Mansion is a short read, but Stuart Field wastes not a word. 48 pages, and every one makes their mark on the reader. I have read quite a few horrors, but this one is so creepy! He is clearly talented in this genre and hope to see more from horror writing from him.
It’s such an atmospheric read I felt like it was pouring out of the pages as I read. The plot is very addictive and a page-turning read for sure. The characters are as lifelike as possible with a novella. They made me very interested in how everything was going to work out anyway.
The way Stuart Field has written The Old Buna Mansion is brilliant! I felt so on edge the further I delved into the story. It made this one heck of a book for me and the ending! Well, read it and see for yourself!!
