Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Catherine Yardley for my invitation to join the tour and my gifted copy of the book.

Natasha Jones has everything – a successful acting career, an Oscar, a wonderful husband and beautiful kids. But what does she have to go through to get there? From humble beginnings in a small town, Natasha’s path to stardom is paved with setbacks, heartaches and moments of doubt.
In the glittering world of fame and fortune, where dreams are spun from starlight and ambition fuels the relentless pursuit of success, one woman’s journey stands as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Beneath the facade of glamour lies a story of unwavering determination and unyielding courage.
Where the Light is the Hottest is a gripping tale of ambition, perseverance and the enduring power of hope. Through Natasha’s journey, we are reminded that the road to success is rarely smooth, but for those who dare to chase their dreams, the rewards are beyond measure.

Where The Light is Hottest by Catherine Yardley caught my attention because I read Ember by this author and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then it was the cover and the description that sealed the deal for me!
An unflinching peep into a world I will never experience. The world of an actor, we are introduced to Natasha Jones, a woman who has everything. She is an oscar winning actor, with the perfect marriage and two children. We learn of her journey through life and how she got where she is now.
It’s not exactly an easy red. Catherine Yardley has ripped the rose coloured glasses off and woven a tale of the brutal profession of acting. I was fascinated with this book, partly because I know Catherine Yardley is writing from personal experience too. I was horrified at some parts, sad at others and as jubilant as Natasha when she had reason to be.
If you want a book to keep you in a nice fantasy about fame and Hollywood with all it’s trappings don’t read this. I was intrigued with the friendship between Natasha, Scarlet, and Claudia. These women have been friends forever and have the strongest bond, or so Natasha thinks anyway.
Told in the present and the past, each chapter switches perspective so the reader learns everything there is to know about Natasha’s journey as well as her friends. At times, it felt a bit like witnessing a car crash, I did get invested in Natasha. She isn’t perfect, and it made her all the more interesting!
Yet another well-written and knowledgeable story. I will be waiting to see what comes next for this author.
