K.L Walther – While We’re Young

Thanks to Dave from The Write Reads for allowing me to tag along on the ultimate blog tour. Thank you for the gifted paperback so I can write my honest review.

“Four Friends, Four Broken Hearts, can one last trip mend it all?”

“Grace, Isa, and Everett used to be an inseparable trio before their love lives became a tangled mess. For starters, Grace is secretly in love with Everett, who used to go out with Isa before breaking her heart in the infamous Freshman Year Fracture. And, oh yeah, no one knows that Isa has been hanging out with James, Grace’s brother—and if Grace finds out, it could ruin their friendship.
With graduation fast approaching, Grace decides an unsanctioned senior skip day in Philadelphia might be just what they need to fix things. All she has to do is convince Isa to help her kidnap Everett and outmaneuver James, who’s certain his sister is up to something.
In an epic day that includes racing up the famous Rocky steps, taste-testing Philly’s finest cheesesteaks, and even crashing a wedding, their secrets are bound to collide. But can their hearts withstand the wreckage?“

My Review

A contemporary ya romance novel by K.L. Walther While We’re Young was my first book by this author. The cover and blurb caught my attention and made me want to pick it up there and then! When it finally arrived, I couldn’t wait to settle down and go on an adventure with the characters.

I enjoyed every single word of this fun and fresh tale. All the characters had me intrigued. The dynamics between them all were enough to keep me reading. This contemporary romance is aimed at younger adults, I would say. Being 53 reading this didn’t spoil anything. I just enjoyed being with all these younger characters, and it easily gave me respite from the heaviness of my real life.

I was drawn in by the cover, which is colourful and looks uplifting, too. I have now realised K.L Walther has written other books and really am looking forward to starting to read them. I found While We’re Young so entertaining, and I had to leave them all too soon!

Author Bio

K.L. Walther grew up Pennsylvania surrounded by family, dogs, and books. Her childhood was spent playing ice hockey, watching romantic comedies, and singing along to Taylor Swift. She earned a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia, where she fell in love with writing and completed the first version of What Happens After Midnight, her third young adult novel. Just like Maybe Meant To Be and The Summer of Broken Rules, it is filled with humor, heart, and a Swiftie scavenger hunt! Find her on Instagram @klwalther9, or visit her at klwalther.com.
