Tommy Jr might be one of the youngest members of the Carter family, but he has plans to one day step into his Uncle Jonny’s shoes as head of the family. Aimee’s dad Kevin Fox feels the Carters owe him big time and now he’s going to part of the family it’s time to pay up. But publicly rejected by the Carters, Kevin plots his revenge and Tommy Jr is firmly in his sights.
So when Tommy is lifted in a drug sting by the police the Carters are shocked – how could Tommy have been so reckless? But Tommy’s cousin Reece Carter doesn’t believe Tommy’s guilty – he suggests Tommy has been setup. But who would be stupid enough to cross the Carter family?
Jonny Carter knows he has to get Tommy out, but it means getting in touch with some old faces who have their own agendas and who will want their own retribution.

The second book in The Carters: Next Generation Series. Retribution is as addictive a read as Downfall was! I have read every book Kerry Kaya has written, and boy, does she know how to write a brilliant gangland genre book.
I would say you could read this as a standalone, but why would you? To miss out on Downfall would be to miss another fabulous read and give you the full picture of the characters involved in this series.
I was gripped from the start with Retribution and made it my mission to read this in one day. Well, that’s not true, really. Kerry Kaya made it my mission! As always, she sucked me right in, and I was back with the Carters. Tommy Jr. is the youngest member of the family, and when his girlfriend tells him she is pregnant, he decides he is going to be the best dad ever. The only problem is that certain other people are planning to derail his life and not in a good way!
Retribution is packed full of twists and turns. A gangland thriller that kept me turning those pages. I am always excited when Kerry Kaya releases another book. I easily get invested in her characters, too. She can make them so realistic that I feel they jump off the page. They have me so engrossed in their lives that I forget about my own for a while.
If you like gritty gangland thrillers and haven’t read Kerry Kaya, you are missing out. She is up there with Kimberley Chambers and Mandasue Heller for me every time!
